Step by step we prep and prep

Had our pre-op for the hysteroscopy this morning with dr. Loy. Next Tuesday morning they'll knock me out (hooray!) go in to my uterus to take a look and a scrape. 1st he'll check it for infection, polyps, and anomalies. 2nd they'll take a scraping (biopsy) of 4 areas... Dr Loy explained they take a scraping at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. The reason behind the scraping is that they've found that there are higher rates of implantation due to the linings healing process for 1-2 cycles there after. Pretty interesting stuff.

 

After the procedure he'll be able to lay out a game plan and we'll reconvene at a final consult with him on his recommendation (which if we are still eligible for ivf will be for single embryo transplant since my uterus is small). If they find any infection ill need to take antibiotics to clear it up then we'll attack from there. 

At the final consult we'll determine our path first w/dr Loy. After we'll meet with a nurse to go over medications and how to order from the specialty pharmacy. Then finally we'll meet with a financial rep to discuss how broke we are about to be. Ha! 

Funny side note. Chady told dr. Loy today at that if he gets us pregnant on the 1st cycle he will re do the entire ivf presentation "slide show" that they use for the practices monthly seminar! Cracked us all up. Okay that's all I have for now. Just wanted to write about it since its still fresh in my mind. Ffeeling a twinge of excitement. Finally.
